Rigging a Yum Dinger onto Lazer Sharp Hooks is a super simple process.
Wacky Rig
-
Eyeball the center of the Yum Dinger
-
Grab either a L97 or L137
-
Hook the Yum Dinger through the middle, cast towards a piece of cover or structure, and catch fish!
Wacky Rig with O-ring
-
Eyeball the center of the Yum Dinger
-
Either with a wacky tool or pair of pliers place the O-ring in the middle of the bait
-
Hook the yum dinger under the O-ring while also going through a little of the Yum Dinger for extreme durability and the most fish per bait possible.
Neko Rig
*The process to rig a Neko rig is also super simple but there are a few important details to keep in mind to help maximize your hook-up ratio. Whenever you see * this indicates those important details to pay extra attention to.
-
Looking at your Yum Dinger find the head (fat end) and tail (skinny end).
-
Insert your desired nail weight into the Yum Dinger
-
Either with an O-ring or directly through the Yum Dinger near the middle of the bait
To make the most of every bite when Neko rigging make sure your hook is facing up when rigging. (need a photo here to support this)
- You can change the action of the Neko Rig with your hook placement.
- Don’t be afraid to experiment with moving up or down the Yum Dinger to get different actions until you find what fish are keying in on.
Pro Tip
Matt from the Country Store says: Watching the line is huge whenever you're fishing a wacky rig! As your wacky rig descends on a semi-slack line, some of the bites you get will be subtle if you see even the slightest tick in your line; reel down and set the hook!
Pro Tip
Ethan from the Country Store says: I'll fish a Neko rig in deeper water often, and strangely enough, I've noticed when the bite is brutally tough, I'll get bit dead sticking it. What deadsticking means is letting the bait sit for a while. If you aren't getting bit imparting action into the bait, don't be afraid to let it sit for a bit. Sometimes I'll let my Neko rig sit for up to a minute between putting action into it.
